KOTTARAKARA COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

St Gregorios College, established in 1964, is founded by His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews II, the Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala. In 1972, the college became a first Grade College with the introduction of degree course. Major milestones were achieved in the history of the College with the introduction of Post Graduate Courses.

The College in the mean time continued to expand and develop in its various spheres. Modern office block was constructed in the year 2000 along with seminar Hall. Separate computer Labs are attached to the various Departments of physics, Chemistry, Maths, Zoology and Botany. A Common Computer Lab was also established for Continuing Education Programmes. The latest addition and a P.G.Seminar Hall to the college is a Modern Language Lab, Commmon Computer Lab, Multi Gym along with other systems.

The College gives much attention to the Co- curricular and Extra curricular activites besides its curricular acadamic activites. The Parent Teacher Association is functioning actively. N.C.C abd N.S.S units of the college are the leading units of the University. Population Education Club, Womens Study Unit, Science Forum, Forestry Club, Book Club, Health Club, Music Club,Quiz Club are functioning regularly. Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy, the Literary Association is functioning very actively in the college. Continuing Education Centre is conducting short- term Certificate Courses under the direction of the Kerala University. Junior Certificate of Information Technology, Certificate of Spoken English Courses are conducted.

We have sent out thousands of young men and women into the wide world through the portals of this institution. We did our mite, Many got benefitted, Some become great, a few achieved what they aspired. Many remain greatful to the Alma matter. Neverthless the matter has been and will be only happy and hue irrespective of their calibre. Many a student have brought laurels to the institution be securing university ranks in the under graduate and post graduate levels and spectacular achievments in Arts, Sports and other co- curricular domains.

Our Alumni Association has Several unit in India and abroad. There are Chaptors in Amerca, Canada, Dubai, Kuwait, Delhi,Madras, Gujarat and Thiruvananthapuram. UAE Chaptor is more active than other Chaptors. More than 500 former students in UAE Chaptor.
